UPDATE: Chris Leben Released Early From Jail

Two weeks ago we posted a number of stories regarding Chris Leben being in jail for parole violations stemming from a DUI charge in 2005.

He was originally jailed for 35 days, which would have seen him released on May 27th, but the court has seen fit to release him a week early. He will now serve the rest of his sentence under home detention.

Very little else is known about Leben's situation at the moment, but we will update this story as more news is released.

UPDATE: Leben Out Of UFC 85

Following his recent jail sentence, Chris Leben has been pulled from UFC 85.

This is possibly due to a combination of the visa requirements to allow him to fight in England, and the length of time he will be in prison, giving him only a few days to train and fly to England.

No official replacement has been named by the UFC, but it is rumored that Nate "The Rock" Quarry will take his place against Michael Bisping in June. We will bring you confirmation of this as soon as we can.

UPDATE: Chris Leben Given Jail Time

We posted recently that Chris Leben had turned himself in to county sheriffs after failing to follow his probation order. (See here for original story http://mmatrivia.blogspot.com/2008/05/chris-leben-in-jail-for-dui.html)

Chris Leben has today been sentenced to 35 days in prison for his offences (minus the 8 days he has served since handing himself in) It now looks as though his bout with Michael Bisping will not go ahead, although there has been no official word from the UFC as yet.

We will keep you informed of any developments.

Chris Leben In Jail For DUI

Chris "The Crippler" Leben has reportedly turned himself in to Police yesterday, after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest, stemming from charges of DUI 3 years ago.

Leben reportedly broke some of the terms of his probation, and so a warrant was issued. Due to the fact that he broke probation conditions, he will not be granted bail, and so will be detained until a hearing on 8th May.

It is widely beleived that Leben turned himself in so that he could be granted a Visa for his UFC 85 fight. Leben is scheduled to fight Michael Bisping in June, at London's O2 arena. He is said to be hopeful that his visa will be granted.
