South Carolina Looks To Regulate MMA

The State of South Carolina could regulate MMA as soon as tomorrow, according to our sources.
The Bill is set to be debated today, and could mean big things for South Carolina. The state already allows Tough Man competitions, but hasn't yet sanctioned MMA. The South Carolina Athletic Commission is all for the idea. Head of the commission, Michael Tyler, had this to say “financially, we’re talking millions–millions of dollars not only in ticket sales but also in restaurants, hotels. It’s going to boost the economy”.

It is beleived that the UFC has already been to South Carolina to look at the Colonial Center in Columbia, and have expressed an interest in staging their shows at the 18,000 capacity arena. This would be great for the state, from a financial stand point, as they would receive 5% of the ticket sales.

We will bring you more information after the results of the debate have been announced.

MMA Regulated In Arizona

A Bill was signed in Arizona on Monday, allowing Mixed Martial Arts competitions to be held there.

Among those calling for the Bill was MMA legend Ken Shamrock, who recently opened a Lions Den Gym in Arizona. Shamrock, who often holds his own shows, is looking forward to being able to put on these shows in Arizona.

The Law allows Arizona State Boxing Commission to use the same rules that are used in States across America.
