IFL Results, As They happen

The IFL event is occurring live in Connecticut tonight. We will update the results below as soon as we learn them.

John Franchi defeats Frank Latina via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in Round 1

Aaron Stark defeats Lamont Lister via Unanimous Decision

John Howard defeats Nick Calendrino via TKO (Ground and Pound) in round 3

Matt Horwich defeats Joey Guel via Unanimous Decision

Josh Souder defeats Zac George via TKO in Round 1

Danillo Villefort defeats Mike Massenzio via Submission (Kneebar) in Round 1

Dan Miller defeats Ryan McGivern via Submission (Kneebar) in Round 1 to become the new IFL Middleweight Champion

Ryan Schultz defeats Devidas Taurosevicius via Unanimous Decision to retain the IFL Lightweight belt (It is worth noting that Taurosevicius broke his foot two minutes into the fight, and won two of the five rounds on the judge's score cards. It is highly possible that this fight could have gone the other way if it wasn't for the injury.)

Roy Nelson defeats Brad Imes via TKO in Round 1 to retaun the IFL Heavyweight Champion

Brad Imes Looks Towards IFL Heavyweight Title

Brad Imes has been booked to fight IFL Heavyweight Champ Roy Nelson for the title next weekend in Connecticut.

Nelson was originally slated to fight Brandon Lee Hinkle, but Hinkle has since been forced out of competition due to injury. Imes has stepped in at short notice to take the challenge.

This will be one of three title fights on the line at this event, one coming from Lightweight champion Ryan Schultz facing Deividas Taurosevicius, and the other from Middleweight Champ Ryan McGivern versus Dan Miller. Lightweight fighter Jim Miller has recently pulled out of the event after his opponent was forced out due to injury. Miller didn't want to face a new opponent after training so long for Fabricio Camoes.

The full fight card looks like this:

Roy Nelson vs. Brad Imes
Ryan McGivern vs. Dan Miller
Ryan Schultz vs. Deividas Taurosevicius
Lamont Lister vs. Aaron Stark
Nick Calandrino vs. John Howard
Josh Souder vs. Zac George

IFL To Introduce New Fighting Surface

IFL Executives have announced a new fighting surface today, which they believe will revolutionize the classic ring.

The new ring, known as "The Hex" is a cross between a ring and a cage. Its sides are made up of five ropes, much like the boxing ring, but it has six sides. The purpose of the extra two sides is to allow more space for the fighters, as we have seen with the cage.

The IFL believes that the ring is a much more fan friendly arena for fights to take place, and that it is much safer than a cage for the fighters.
