Elite XC have released information regarding the lucky announcing team who gets the privilege to announce for the card aired on CBS.These people have been named as former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Frank Shamrock, former Pride annohncer Mauro Ranallo and veteran sports play by play man Gus Johnson. Elite XC announced that they had signed Johnson late last week.
The fight card, entitled Elite XC: Primetime, is one of four Saturday Night Fights events scheduled to be aired on CBS on May 31st.
Despite being a fighter himself, Shamrock has been signed for color commentary, along with Mauro Ranallo. Gus Johnson will handle the play by play for the event.
From a fan's perspective, this is a very strong broadcast team, and should serve the public well in MMA's primetime debut.
