Movie To Be Made About Matt Hamill

UFC fighter Matt Hamill has announced that a low budget movie will be made about his early life and wrestling career. The movie will focus on the difficulties Hamill has suffered through being a deaf athlete.

The man cast as Hamill is Eben Kostbar, who has starred in a few low budget movies. He is fluent in American Sign Language and has wrestling experience. He also co-wrote the script for the movie. This choice is being criticised by some of the deaf community, as they feel that the role should be played by a deaf actor. Matt Hamill was shocked at this news:

"I was really shocked by the reaction," Hamill told UFC.com. "I thought the movie would receive positive feedback from the deaf community because this movie is based on a deaf athlete and the life surrounding his deafness. It hurt at first, but I've come to realize that this is a small portion of the deaf community. With positive things, comes the negative things. If anything, it has kept me grounded."

The movie, entitled simply "Hamill", is scheduled for release in 2009, and Hamill is fully supporting the project, and the choice of actor to portray him.

Yeah makes the most sense but it might be a little difficult to understand him for some people.
