Nearly two weeks ago, we announced that the UFC was looking to host their September event in Atlanta, Georgia. (See here for original story http://mmatrivia.blogspot.com/2008/05/ufc-88-headed-back-to-atlanta.html)This location has now been confirmed by Dana White himself, although a venue has not yet been mentioned. It will be the first time the UFC has headed to Georgia under Zuffa control. The last time they were there was at UFC 13, which was promoted by former UFC owners, SEG Sports.
Dana White has also announced that Chuck Liddell will be appearing on the September card, although no opponent has been named yet. It is expected that he will face Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, as he was originally booked to do at UFC 85. Both Shogun and Liddell were forced to pull out of the event due to injuries, but both fighters expect to be ready by September.
