Takanori Gomi wins Sengoku Lightweight Grand Prix

As expected, Takanori Gomi has won the Lightweight Title at Sengoku "Fourth Battle" this weekend.

The decision to put Gomi in the final without having to fight his way there was a decision that angered many fans, but ultimately paid off for Gomi. He faced Seung Hwan Bang at this weekend's event, winning via a lackluster unanimous decision. This gave him the title of World Victory Road Lightweight Champion. The winner of the lightweight grand prix will now fight Gomi when the time comes.

In the lightweight grand prix, heavy favourite Ryan Schultz was knocked out by Mizuto Hirota via superman punch. This loss was highly unexpected and has suprised many fans. All the winners in the grand prix were Japanese fighters, and they will face off in the semi finals.
