Egan Inoue Comes Out Of Retirement

Former ICON Sports Middleweight champion Egan Inoue has announced that he will come out of retirement to fight against a fellow Hawaiian fighter, Hans Marrero.

Inoue will be one of many Hawaiian great making their return at X1 World Events- Legends on Friday. Other fighters include Ray Cooper, with a co main event starring Chad Reiner and Brandon Wolff.

When asked about this fight, Inoue had this to say:

"It's going to be a tough fight, I'm not taking him for granted one bit. He's 23 years old, strong. He looks in shape and ready to go. It's going to be a good fight. I found out that Hans was wanting to fight me. Not that I always take on guys that want to fight me, [but] I actually wanted to test my skills against someone 23 years old, or someone young."

Marrero had some unusually kind and supportive words to say about Inoue too.

"Egan has definitely inspired my fight career, but it's gotten to the point now where we have to fight," Marrero said. "For me, it's just to see where I'm at and at the same time fight an inspiration, a hero to your sport and to you. It's going to be an awesome opportunity. As a fighter I think he's awesome. As a person I think he's awesome. Very humble guy."
